Accurate & Durable Timers for Every Game Condition.
The game of lacrosse is both mentally and physically demanding for both players and referees alike. Referees are additionally responsible for game timing. Accurate and durable timers have become an essential part of game administration requiring advanced timing systems operating under adverse conditions such as rain, heat, cold, banging, bumping and so on. Thinking ‘outside the box’ is required . Accutimers finds thinking ‘outside the box’ is far from enough. We’ve climbed out of it!
Timers where not in use when I started officiating lacrosse in 1988. If we judged a team was stalling, advancement requirements were a verbal ‘clear the ball’ from the defense half of the field. We used ‘get it in’ once the ball cleared midfield. As teams began to get ‘bigger, stronger and faster’, the need for additional timing requirements were needed. Timing went through several iterations & variations.
Our design is unique. We rely on extensive field experience. We’ve learned and corrected design flaws that plagued other timers over the years by engineering our timer to withstand weather, handling & wear-and-tear.
A Better Design.
We’ve strengthened the toggle switch by attaching it to the inside bottom of the box. If the toggle nut accidentally falls off, the switch will stay in place. You can buy another one at Home Depot.
We use a belt strap instead of a clip. Clips are almost impossible to repair.
Our 20 Second/ 1:40 time out ‘Dual’ model, now features a 2:00 time out function. It counts to 1:40, sounds for several second then continues to count sounding again at the end of the time out at 2:00. Only toggle flip can time the full time out. You can use the former timing method. Flip the switch backward for 1:40 then forward for 20 seconds.
